Davids uses premium micro abrasives made from natural sandstone and quartz powder to polish the surface stains from teeth and naturally whiten without the use of chemicals. More importantly, these micro abrasives safely polish away the plaque on teeth. Xylitol is a natural sweetener, but clinical dental studies have shown that Xylitol also helps aid our natural saliva production, which helps kill the bad bacteria in your mouth that forms plaque. Some Xylitol is made from corn or beets, but Davids only uses a premium USA produced Xylitol derived from birch trees, which is considered the best for both you and the environment. 

With its unique ability to bind to enamel and smooth out micro-imperfections, Nano-hydroxyapatite actively works to repair the enamel and block the nerve passageways to relieve tooth sensitivity. Nano hydroxyapatite (n-Ha for short), was developed by NASA to repair and regenerate bone and enamel that astronauts were losing while out in space. Our teeth and bones are largely composed of a natural mineral called hydroxyapatite with our enamel composed of about 97% hydroxyapatite. Davids has incorporated the power of nano-hydroxyapatite into our Sensitive+Whitening Toothpaste to create a revolutionary advancement for those who suffer from sensitive teeth by repairing the tooth enamel to help stop tooth sensitivity.

Davids uses a small amount of Baking Soda, which works to help kill the bad bacteria in your mouth that cause odor & plaque. Used to neutralize the plaque forming acids in your mouth, remove surface stains, and whiten & polish teeth.  Baking soda can be found as a naturally occurring compound but is more frequently manufactured from other naturally derived materials. Baking soda can be produced by the reaction of carbon dioxide and soda ash, a naturally occurring mineral.

Davids uses ultra-premium essential oils coming from various regions around the US, to create a custom flavoring blend which gives Davids our incredible taste. The essential oils used in Davids were also chosen for their antibacterial properties. Davids flavor oils not only work to provide fresh breath, but also act to kill the plaque causing bacteria in your mouth.

Naturally sourced from the earth, our calcium carbonate is mined from a quarry in Pennsylvania and processed to meet the strictest purity standards.  Calcium carbonate is used as a mild abrasive to assist with the brushing action to help reduce plaque, remove surface stains, and whiten & polish teeth. 

Used to blend ingredients and give texture.

Used to moisten the mouth and enhance our essential oil flavoring.  Also used as a preservative to keep the paste moist and to keep the ingredients from separating.  Our glycerin is naturally derived from vegetable oils which undergo advanced processing (hydrolysis) to obtain a highly pure final food grade ingredient.  Glycerin can also be derived from animal fats, however, we avoid using this type of glycerin in order to stay true to our definition of natural and commitment to cruelty free.

Naturally derived from silica, a common material that makes up about 12% of the earth's surface, used to help remove surface stains and whiten & polish teeth.  Others often use low quality imported silica with large abrasive particles that can scratch or damage the enamel....Davids uses only the highest quality USA made hydrated silica with ultra fine microscopic particles designed to safely clean and polish the enamel on your teeth.

Alternative to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). This ingredient is derived from coconut materials after going through advanced processing, and used to create a mild foaming action which helps suspends the other ingredients while brushing, helping the cleaning and whitening process.    

Seaweed is hand harvested from the ocean, dried, and milled to a fine powder.  When we add the water and other liquids to the seaweed powder, it creates a gel paste.  Without seaweed powder (carrageenan), our toothpaste would have a syrup like consistency.  There has been confusion about this ingredient because there is a NON FOOD GRADE version known as degraded Carrageenan (aka poligeenan) - formerly referred to as degraded carrageenan. 

We use a premium domestic essential oil of peppermint naturally sourced from mint leaves.  Used to give our toothpaste a natural peppermint flavor, to kill the bacteria in your mouth and freshen breath.  We developed a custom blend of ultra premium, USA produced, mint oils from various mint growing regions around the US to create a one of a kind mint flavor that is amazing.

Naturally sourced from the perennial herbal plant anise. Used to compliment the peppermint flavor and freshen breath. 

We use a premium domestic essential oil of wintergreen naturally sourced from wintergreen leaves.  Used to compliment the peppermint flavor and freshen breath. 

Derived from the stevia plant.  Used as a natural sweetener and to further enhance the natural mint oil flavoring. 

Ultra fine charcoal powder derived from coconut shells is used to safely and effectively remove plaque and polish away surface stains for natural whitening.  Enamel safe formulation allows Davids charcoal toothpaste to be used twice daily.

To not only leave your mouth feeling fresh & clean, will help kill bacteria that cause bad breath. Menthol naturally occurs in our peppermint oil, but is only added separately in our Herbal Citrus Peppermint toothpaste.
