Davids nano hydroxyapatite toothpastes contain microscopic rod-shaped particles of hydroxyapatite, the same material your enamel is primarily made from. These particles mimic the structure of enamel and help to remineralize microscopic fissures and cracks, fill and smooth weak spots, and strengthen your teeth.

Our toothpaste formulas also do not contain any fluoride, sulfates, or harsh artificial chemicals, so they’re just as gentle on your teeth and mouth as they are effective.

Yes. Nano hydroxyapatite is biocompatible and non-toxic, making it a safe and effective alternative to fluoride.

That said, not all toothpastes with hydroxyapatite are created equal. Particle size, purity, and the concentration of hydroxyapatite also play a role. For example, needle-shaped nHA can penetrate tissues more easily and potentially cause cytotoxicity, leading to inflammation or irritation.

Davids uses the only form of nHA specifically researched and approved by the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) as both safe and effective. It’s even suitable for kids since it is safe to swallow.

Nano hydroxyapatite particles are much smaller, allowing them to penetrate deep into enamel fissures and fill microscopic cracks. This helps replenish lost minerals, smooth your teeth’s surface, and relieve hypersensitivity by sealing cracks in enamel that expose nerves.

Micro hydroxyapatite, on the other hand, is much larger in comparison. These particles work more on the surface, as they cannot effectively occlude tubules or fill micro fissures. Fluoride binds with the calcium and phosphate in your saliva to create fluorapatite, which forms a protective barrier on the surface of the teeth.

Nano hydroxyapatite, however, is made of the same mineral that naturally makes up your enamel. It actually binds to and integrates with the enamel instead of coating the surface. It’s like filling a crack rather than just sealing over it.
