    The bristles are rated as "soft", but are not "ultra soft". Actually you want a little bit of stiffness to help remove the plaque. If a toothbrush is too soft, it becomes more difficult for the toothpaste to do it's job of removing the biofilm and plaque, and plaque is what causes the cavities, so again important to have a small degree of stiffness in the bristles. Sorry to hear you were not satisfied!
