are your teeth addicted to drugs?

are your teeth addicted to drugs?

Have you ever taken a bite of something cold, hot, sticky, sweet, or hard and felt a shocking pain radiate from your tooth? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. This sharp pain is known as dentin hypersensitivity (or sensitive teeth), and it’s estimated that roughly 50 million Americans suffer from the same pain. It can cause discomfort ranging from slightly annoying to totally debilitating, urging you to avoid your favorite foods and drinks…or even prevent you from using certain sides of your mouth. Understandably, your next thought after “ouch” will likely be about finding oral care products that soothe your sensitivity. But the truth is, some of these products contain chemical drugs (like potassium nitrate) that temporarily numb the problem without truly soothing (or solving) it. So if you’re one of the over 50 million Americans who suffer from tooth sensitivity, read on to see if your teeth are addicted to drugs....and explore new innovative solutions (like our proprietary Hydroxi™ formula) that truly provide relief for sensitive teeth. what causes tooth sensitivity? Before we dive into the dos and don’ts of sensitive oral care products, let’s explore what causes tooth sensitivity. While there are many reasons you may develop sensitive teeth, here are some of the most common ones. weakened enamel: when the hard outer layer of your teeth (your enamel) weakens over time, it can expose the dentin layer beneath it. Dentin contains little tubules that lead to your tooth’s center nerve. When those tubules become exposed, it is easier for hot, cold, and acidic substances to reach and aggravate the nerve....leading to pain. gum recession: your teeth have “roots” where they meet your gum line, and those roots are not protected by hard enamel. Instead, they’re only protected by your gums! So if your gums start to recede, those roots can become exposed, causing sensitivity on contact. Sensitivity can also be a symptom of tooth decay, gum disease, a worn filling, a vitamin deficiency, and beyond. We highly recommend visiting your dentist to find out the root cause of your sensitivity, especially if it’s persistent. what is potassium nitrate? Potassium nitrate is a chemical numbing agent found in a lot of sensitive oral care products, like toothpaste and mouthwash. It “works” by blocking the pain signals between your tooth’s center nerve and your brain, offering temporary relief. In our book, there are a few problems with this approach. It disrupts the mind-mouth-body connection. At Davids, we like to think about oral care as part of a bigger picture. Your dental health plays a crucial role in your overall wellness, from blood sugar regulation to mental health. If you’re experiencing sensitivity, it’s a (painful) signal that some root cause needs to be addressed for the sake of your oral and overall health. Why would we want to silence that signal? Instead, we want to listen to it, uncover the root cause, and solve it for the sake of your holistic health. It’s a short-term solution. While a coating of potassium nitrate might desensitize your mouth in the moment, that coating eventually wears off, and you’re back to square one. This keeps you in a vicious cycle where your teeth can become “addicted” to drugs. You only feel relief in the short window after you use your potassium nitrate products, but it does not address the problems with your teeth, and we think your mouth deserves a better long-term solution. It’s not ideal for health-conscious consumers. Though generally considered “safe” for use in sensitive toothpastes, If you're committed to using clean natural products, potassium nitrate may not be your best option for tooth sensitivity relief. Over long term use it can be absorbed by the gums and enter the bloodstream. On that note, let’s explore whether or not potassium nitrate is safe for daily use. is potassium nitrate safe? Generally speaking, yes, potassium nitrate is safe and approved by various regulatory agencies. However, research shows that it can be harmful in high amounts. Potassium nitrate is also used as a food additive, and there is some research that raises concern over potential cancer risks. Also, some people might find that too much of it can cause stomach discomfort and other pesky symptoms. So, is potassium nitrate safe? Sure, but that doesn’t make it the best solution for pain....or your oral health! Now you might be wondering: what is the best solution for tooth sensitivity relief? If you’re craving relief for sensitive teeth, the answer is nano-hydroxyapatite. what is nano-hydroxyapatite? Unlike potassium nitrate, hydroxyapatite is a substance that already exists in your body. In fact, your enamel and dentin are both mainly made up of hydroxyapatite. In other words, it’s an important mineral that keeps your teeth healthy and strong. Nano-hydroxyapatite is hydroxyapatite of a smaller particle size (small enough to fit inside of those microscopic openings in your teeth), and you’ll find these nano-sized particles in our hydroxyapatite oral care products. At Davids, we care deeply about making oral care products that are safe for you and the planet, so we crafted our own recipe of premium nano-hydroxyapatite blended with carefully selected naturally sourced and naturally derived ingredients of the highest quality....and we call this proprietary formula Hydroxi™! the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth All of the ingredients in Hydroxi™ work together to reduce your sensitivity at the source by penetrating your enamel and delivering essential minerals to your teeth. The nano-hydroxyapatite particles bind to your enamel to fill in microscopic holes, scratches, weakened areas, and other imperfections to remineralize your teeth and create a strong layer of protection over your dentin. This “plugs” those exposed tubules that lead to the tooth’s center nerve, soothing your sensitivity at the source, rather than temporarily numbing the pain like potassium nitrate. In fact, the high-performance formulation of Hydroxi™ outshines leading hydroxyapatite toothpastes, and mainstream sensitive toothpastes that use potassium nitrate. We sent samples of Hydroxi™ to a trusted third-party lab to see how it performs against other leading sensitive toothpaste products: Apagard Premio, Boka, Colgate Sensitive, Risewell, Sensodyne Pronamel, and Tom’s Sensitive. All numerical and photo evidence revealed that Hydroxi™ outperforms the competition, blocking exposed tubules better than the rest. Check out the photo evidence below! If you’re looking for real, root-cause relief for sensitive teeth, ditch the numbing drugs and add  Hydroxi™ to your daily routine. other common mistakes to avoid when treating tooth sensitivity ignoring early signs Many people are quick to dismiss mild tooth sensitivity, thinking it’ll go away on its own. At first, it might feel like a slight hint of discomfort when you sip your hot coffee or bite into your ice cream cone. You might even feel a little pain when you suck in air through your teeth or feel a little ache when sugar hits your tooth. These sensations come and go, so they’re easy to ignore…until they become more frequent and intense! What starts as occasional discomfort you can brush off can quickly progress into persistent pain. This is because your slightly sensitive tooth is already more vulnerable than a healthy tooth. This gives bacteria, acids, and other outside threats leeway to wear down your enamel even more. By visiting your dentist during these early stages, you can identify the root cause of your sensitivity. If it’s caused by enamel wear, you can introduce a remineralizing product (like Hydroxi™) to help stop sensitivity in its tracks. If it’s caused by gum recession, your dentist might have additional ideas to treat your gums and relieve your sensitivity before it becomes unbearable. brushing too hard It’s tempting to think that brushing “harder” (with more pressure) keeps your teeth extra clean. But this approach can do way more harm than good…especially if you have sensitive teeth. Over brushing (or even just using a medium-to-hard bristle toothbrush) can wear down your enamel over time, leading to even more damage and sensitivity. Not to mention, aggressive brushing can also cause gum recession, exposing those roots toward the bottom of your teeth. To protect your enamel and gums, be sure to brush in a gentle, circular motion rather than harsh back-and-forth or up-and-down movements. Also, be sure to check out our bamboo toothbrush which sports a 100% natural bamboo handle and high-performance soft bristles. The bristles are also BPA-free, derived from castor oil (versus other conventional toothbrushes made with bristles derived from petroleum oil). The unique design of our bamboo toothbrush offers a smooth and gentle mouthfeel as you brush your teeth (even in sensitive, hard-to-reach areas). using acidic or alcohol-based mouthwash Many people rely on big-name mouthwash products for that intense, minty-fresh feeling, thinking it’s a sign of a cleaner, healthier mouth. While we don’t recommend these products for any mouth, we especially don’t recommend them for sensitive mouths. Acidic, alcohol-based mouthwash formulas can make sensitivity much worse, as they contain harsh ingredients that can strip away your protective enamel over time. The alcohol in these products dries out your mouth, reducing saliva production which can throw off the pH balance in your oral microbiome and give bacteria a prime environment to thrive. The acidic stabilizers in these products (like citric acid, benzoic acid, and beyond) can further harm the delicate pH in your mouth. All of these things together can lead to even more enamel erosion and sensitivity. We recommend opting for an alcohol-free, pH-balancing mouthwash that helps to soothe sensitivity, remineralize your enamel rather than weaken it, and stimulate saliva production rather than dry out your mouth. Stay tuned for a near-future Davids product that does just that! whitening your teeth too often with peroxide-based products Teeth whitening is a common culprit for sensitive teeth, especially if you’re using peroxide-based products. These popular products work by lifting surface stains with harsh oxidation, releasing free radicals (unstable atoms that can cause damage). While these products effectively whiten your teeth, they can also weaken your enamel, irritate your gums, and lead to increased sensitivity and pain over time. We recommend Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid (PAP) based products over peroxides. PAP is a gentler, more natural alternative that lifts stains without releasing harmful free radicals in the process. You can even find “PAP+” products that contain nano-hydroxyapatite, which helps to remineralize your enamel during the whitening process. This can boost whitening while protecting your teeth from sensitivity! It’s also worth noting that our entire toothpaste lineup is formulated with gentle, nature-derived ingredients to whiten your teeth. Certain ingredients, like our premium, ultra-fine abrasives, gently “exfoliate” surface stains from your teeth without damaging your enamel, leaving your teeth feeling as good as they look! why you should turn to Hydroxi™ for relief for sensitive teeth By adding Hydroxi™ to your daily oral care routine, you’re taking one simple (yet highly effective) step to minimize and prevent sensitivity at the source….every single day! enamel repair the sensitivity solution: how hydroxyapatite can help teeth prone to pain

the sensitivity solution: how hydroxyapatite can help teeth prone to pain

Do you feel like your teeth are just more sensitive than others? That you’re doomed to deal with uncomfortable sensitivity for the rest of your life? Well, we’re here to give you something to smile about. Not only are we exploring the reasons you might be predisposed to sensitivity, but we’re also reminding you of a critical solution to your sensitivity: hydroxyapatite toothpaste. By addressing sensitivity at the source, nano hydroxyapatite is changing the game for sensitive mouths. No matter the cause (as you read on, you’ll discover there are many), hydroxyapatite is here to provide you with long-term enamel repair and tooth sensitivity relief. genetics’ role in tooth sensitivity Did you know that sensitive teeth can be genetic? Dental pain can range from a minor nuisance to severely debilitating, and genes can play a role in where you fall on this spectrum. Specific genes influence the development of nerve pathways, where pain signals travel from your tooth to your brain. These nerve pathways can differ from person to person, influencing how much tooth pain they feel throughout their day, when they brush, or even during dental procedures (which is why some might require more numbing than others). A common representation of this is redheads! Some research indicates that redheads might be more sensitive to pain, including tooth sensitivity. This is because red hair comes from a mutation to a receptor gene that’s connected to your pain response. Research also suggests that redheads might be less responsive to local anesthetics used in dentistry, and they’re twice as likely to avoid dental work due to bad experiences. Not to fear! If you suspect you’re genetically predisposed to sensitive teeth, just be sure to tell your dentist in advance to avoid bad experiences. You can also brush with hydroxyapatite toothpaste to nurture strong, healthy enamel and provide tooth sensitivity relief. hormonal changes and sensitive teeth Hormones can also play a large role in tooth/gum sensitivity. As an example, estrogen and progesterone increase during pregnancy, which can cause inflammation in your gums, increase blood flow and volume to your mouth, and affect how your body responds to the bacteria in your mouth. All of these factors can make your teeth and gums more sensitive. On the opposite end, decreased hormone production during menopause can lead to dry mouth, decreased bone density, thinning mouth tissue, and weakened enamel. All of these things can lead to uncomfortable tooth (and overall mouth) sensitivity. During times of hormonal changes (from puberty to pregnancy and beyond), it’s important to add our hydroxyapatite toothpaste into your oral care routine to nurture strong enamel, reduce sensitivity, and fight bad bacteria for a healthy mouth. daily habits that may cause sensitive teeth Alongside genetics and hormones, your daily habits can play a huge role in causing/relieving sensitivity. From your diet to how hard you press on your toothbrush, there are so many things that can impact the sensitivity of your teeth. Here are a few! poor oral care habits: plaque buildup and tartar (hardened plaque) are among the most common causes of sensitivity! If you’re not properly brushing and flossing with effective toothpaste (like our hydroxyapatite toothpaste), plaque can remain on your enamel and damage, causing sensitivity. aggressive brushing: brushing too hard, especially with a medium-to-hard bristle toothbrush can erode your enamel. This exposes the sensitive layers beneath and the tubules that lead to your tooth’s ultra-sensitive center nerve. Our bamboo toothbrush is made with high-performance soft bristles to reveal an effective clean without harmful pressure. Our hydroxyapatite toothpaste works to repair damaged enamel and relieve sensitivity by delivering essential fortifying minerals and nutrients that bind to your teeth for long-term benefits. teeth grinding: just like aggressive brushing, teeth grinding can also wear down your enamel over time. Because teeth grinding is often a subconscious habit that occurs during sleep, it can be harder to identify and address. Be sure to take note if you’re waking up with jaw pain, tension headaches, and increased sensitivity in the morning. To understand the causes of teeth grinding and how nano hydroxyapatite can help, check out our previous article here. eating acidic or sugary foods: did you grow up eating/drinking sugary substances? Do you love lemons, limes, coffee, or wine? Over time, these things can weaken your enamel, also exposing the pathways to your tooth’s center nerve. Without repairing that enamel with powerful minerals like nano hydroxyapatite, these foods and drinks can lead to long-term sensitivity. whitening with peroxides: using peroxide mouthwash or whitening strips, gels, and foams can cause sensitivity after a single use. This is because peroxides release damaging free radicals as they work, causing discomfort for your gums, enamels, and mouth tissue. If you’re experiencing sudden tooth sensitivity out of nowhere, it could result from a lingering dental issue (like a cracked tooth or cavity) or even sinus pressure. When you’re sick or experiencing allergies, the inflammation in your sinuses can increase the pressure on your teeth, resulting in sudden sensitivity. solve your sensitivity with Davids hydroxyapatite toothpaste When you use our hydroxyapatite toothpaste daily, you can smile bright knowing you’re providing relief for your sensitive teeth by nurturing strong, healthy enamel. Unlike other sensitive toothpastes that use chemicals to numb your teeth and gums, our hydroxyapatite toothpaste delivers enamel repair and tooth sensitivity relief at the source. Because hydroxyapatite makes up the foundation of your enamel and dentin (the layer right below), the nano hydroxyapatite particles in our toothpaste can penetrate your enamel, bind to it, and fill any holes or imperfections that might expose your tooth’s center nerve. The result is a truly healthier, less sensitive smile. If you feel like you’re someone who has surrendered to having more sensitive teeth than everyone else, give our hydroxyapatite toothpaste a try! It might just be the thing you’ve been seeking to achieve that healthy, comfortable smile. buy now.

nano hydroxyapatite brush right past the whitening trends: why PAP teeth whitening is the best option

brush right past the whitening trends: why PAP teeth whitening is the best option

It’s no secret that TikTok trends spread like wildfire. Faster than we can say “PAP teeth whitening,” people all over the internet are attempting to whiten their smiles with purple toothpaste and magic erasers. While these trends range from silly to dangerous, we think it’s important to dig a little deeper into them. As a company passionate about creating safe, effective, and natural oral care products, we always want you to understand the ins and outs of the products you’re putting in your mouth! So you can feel peace and confidence using these products in your everyday oral care routine. So in addition to busting TikTok myths, we’re also spotlighting our favorite teeth whitening method, PAP teeth whitening. This incredible, innovative whitening approach can help you achieve a bright white smile that’s as healthy as it looks! Without further ado, let’s dive into the good, the bad, and the ugly of some current teeth whitening trends. whitening trends to brush right past peroxide strips, gels, and pens… oh my Well, it’s safe to say that peroxide products are more than just a trend. These whitening strips, gels, and pens have been around for a while. There’s no denying that they’re effective whitening products, but we want to make sure you’re aware of the cons that come with them. For example, the most obvious con of peroxide-based teeth whitening is tooth demineralization and sensitivity. Peroxides work by releasing free radicals (unstable atoms) to oxidize stains. While this can help you achieve a brighter smile, it can also strip your teeth of essential minerals. These minerals are what keep your enamel strong enough to protect the (very sensitive) center nerve that exists in each of your teeth. This can cause burning, redness, itching, inflammation, sensitivity, and long-term enamel damage. Another minor con? These methods offer instant gratification, but they’re not a long-term solution. After using these products and continuing on with your daily routine, your teeth will probably return to that darker shade. The truth is that these products aren’t ideal for regular use (the discomfort they cause speaks for itself). LED teeth whitening kits LED lights are often used to “enhance the effects” of peroxide whitening kits. The lights work to “activate” the hydrogen peroxide, increasing the temperature of the chemicals causing it to decompose quicker, speed up bleaching, and increase the release of free radicals. It’s thought that these free radicals are what help whiten your teeth, but these are unstable atoms that have been known to damage healthy cells and increase oxidative stress (both of which can cause inflammation). In other words, LED lights might speed up the whitening process, but they can also exacerbate the uncomfortable side effects that come with peroxide teeth whitening. purple toothpaste This option might look tempting on TikTok, but it doesn’t actually do much to nurture white teeth. Purple toothpaste is exactly what it sounds like: toothpaste that’s dyed purple (with synthetic chemicals). Because purple is across from yellow on the color wheel, it’s thought to “cancel out” yellow tones on your tooth’s surface to make them appear whiter. But once the purple dye leaves your teeth (from eating, drinking, or just producing saliva alone), your teeth will return to their original shade. This one is another case of chemical-filled instant gratification. magic erasers (we can’t believe it either) We can’t believe we’re saying this, but some people on social media are using Magic Erasers (yes, the ones you use to clean your bathtub) to scrub the yellow tint off their teeth. Experts have confirmed that Magic Erasers are not safe to use on your teeth. These household sponges are made with melamine, a nitrogen-rich compound that contains formaldehyde. Not only that, but these sponges are highly abrasive, which is why they can erase stains with the swing of a wand. It’s safe to say that the abrasiveness and chemical composition of these cleaners are not safe for your mouth, as they can irritate/damage your teeth, gums, mouth, and stomach. PAP teeth whitening nurtures your teeth from the inside out Now that we’ve ruled out the bad guys, let’s see how PAP teeth whitening does things the right way. Unlike all of the options mentioned above, PAP (Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid) works with nano hydroxyapatite to nourish a bright, white, and healthy smile from the inside out. PAP whitening works with nano hydroxyapatite to penetrate your enamel, lift stains (even below the surface), and deliver a healthy dose of minerals to your teeth. Remember at the beginning of this article when we said that peroxide-based whiteners strip your teeth of essential minerals? PAP teeth whitening has the power to do the exact opposite, whitening your teeth and leaving them stronger than they were (instead of sensitive). Not to mention, PAP whitening does not release free radicals to get the job done. This means it avoids all of the unwanted side effects of the options listed above (aka irritation, inflammation, sensitivity, and long-term enamel wear). get back to the basics of oral care with Davids As a holistic oral care company, we couldn’t resist an opportunity to bring you back to the basics of oral care. causes of sensitive teeth 10 common causes of sensitive teeth and how our hydroxyapatite toothpaste can help

10 common causes of sensitive teeth and how our hydroxyapatite toothpaste can help

Picture this: you’re eating an ice-cold snack on a hot summer day when suddenly, your sensitive tooth reminds you it’s alive and (un)well. We know how annoying and disruptive sensitive teeth can be, but we also know that understanding the cause of your sensitivity can lead to a long-term solution. That’s why we’re diving into 10 commoncauses of sensitive teeth and providing realistic, everyday solutions....many of which revolve around brushing daily with hydroxyapatite toothpaste. Because it’s time to get to the root of your sensitivity....and solve the problem once and for all. 1: acidic, sugary substances Acidic substances (citrus fruits, vinegar, tomatoes, yogurt, etc.) can erode your enamel and wear down your gum line over time. This “opens the door” for bacteria and other substances to enter the inner layers of your teeth, exposing the tubules that lead to your tooth’s center nerve. Foods that are high in sugar and carbohydrates can have the same effect. This is because the bacteria in your mouth (and gut) release acids to break down these carbohydrates, depositing more acid on your enamel and gums and leading to sensitivity. Don’t worry, daily brushing with our hydroxyapatite toothpaste can clean up the acids, plaque, and bacteria in your mouth while also providing enamel repair, making your teeth stronger and more resilient to future threats. 2: brushing too aggressively One of the lesser-known causes of sensitive teeth is brushing too hard. That’s right, aggressive brushing doesn’t actually clean your teeth more effectively! Over time, it can cause more harm than good by wearing down your enamel and gum line. To avoid this, we recommend using a soft bristle toothbrush (like our bamboo toothbrush) and practicing mindfulness every time you brush. Make an effort to brush with soft motions, gently sweeping over your teeth and gums in circular or back-and-forth motions without pressing too hard. 3: teeth grinding Do you feel tension headaches and jaw soreness after a long day or a night of sleep? These could be signs that you grind your teeth when you’re sleeping (or subconsciously throughout the day when you’re stressed). Constantly clenching your teeth can also lead to enamel and gum damage, causing pain in your muscles and sensitivity in your teeth! Be sure to check out our previous article to help identify some reasons why you might be grinding your teeth....and how our hydroxyapatite toothpaste can help repair the damage. In short, the nano hydroxyapatite (n-ha) particles in our formula can actually bind to your enamel and repair the small holes, scratches, and depressions caused by grinding. 4: teeth whitening with peroxides Do you whiten your teeth with peroxide-based products? While hydrogen peroxide + carbamide peroxide are effective bleaching agents, they’re famous for causing sensitivity, burning, itching, redness, and swelling because they strip your enamel. Don’t worry, there’s a more natural approach to whitening that actually fortifies your enamel. Meet PAP teeth whitening, aka the peroxide-free future of teeth whitening. PAP is an organic acid that activates bleaching, and it’s often mixed with hydroxyapatite to give you a gentle whitening formula that nurtures enamel repair and soothes sensitivity as it whitens. What’s not to love? 5: chemical mouthwash Are you using conventional mouthwash every day? Many chemical mouthwashes contain alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, both of which are very harsh on your enamel and gums and lead to pain and sensitivity. Instead of completely wiping out all of the microorganisms in your mouth with chemical mouthwash, we recommend tongue scraping and/or switching to a more natural mouthwash. By making these swaps, you’re nurturing a healthier balance of bacteria in your oral microbiome (yes, good bacteria exist and are essential for your oral and overall health). 6: plaque buildup around the gumline Plaque and tartar are two things that will really harm your enamel and gum line over time, leading to very uncomfortable tooth sensitivity. When plaque (a gooey buildup of bacteria) sits on your teeth for 24-72 hours, it hardens into tartar, which can only be removed by dental professionals. So if your teeth feel rough when you press your tongue against them, you’re past due for a visit to the dentist! To prevent plaque and tartar buildup, brush daily with our hydroxyapatite toothpaste, which contains micro-abrasives to break down plaque, xylitol and peppermint oils to kill bad bacteria, and hydroxyapatite to deliver enamel repair. 7: acid reflux Just like acidic foods can cause sensitivity, so can acid reflux. This is just another example of how your gut health and oral health are so closely intertwined. Although many doctors will prescribe an antiacid medication, we feel it’s essential for your holistic health to identify the root cause of your acid reflux. Do you have low stomach acid levels from stress, magnesium deficiency, poor eating habits, H. Pylori infection, or hypothyroidism? We encourage you to visit both a medical doctor and a functional doctor in your area to develop a plan of action that best nourishes your oral and overall health. 8: cavity, cracked tooth, worn fillings It may seem obvious, but cavities, cracked teeth, and worn fillings are all leading causes of sensitivity and discomfort. If your sensitivity persists despite daily brushing with hydroxyapatite toothpaste, it’s best to get it checked out by your dentist to see if the enamel wear has progressed to decay. Dental professionals can also check for cracks in your teeth and worn fillings. As you get older, fillings can weaken and bacteria can build up around the edges, leading to really uncomfortable sensitivity that only your dentist can straighten out. 9: gum recession + gum disease You can see that many of the above causes of sensitive teeth revolve around enamel wear and gum health. If your gums begin to recede or form “pockets” because of periodontitis, you’re going to experience persistent sensitivity. When your gums recede, they expose parts of your teeth that aren’t meant to come in contact with the outside world. The lower parts of your teeth (which are usually protected by your gums) contain tubules that lead to your center nerve, so when they become exposed, sensitivity starts. If you notice your sensitivity is coupled with bleeding gums, redness, and inflammation, you might be dealing with gum disease. It’s best to get your gums checked out by your dentist to craft a personalized plan of action. 10: aging We can’t stress this enough: it’s so important to start caring for your enamel and gums as early as possible, so you can prevent sensitivity as you age. So, if you’ve been waiting to try out hydroxyapatite toothpaste, our best advice is to go for it. Your oral care habits, eating habits, everyday wear and tear, and genetics all accumulate over time, which can lead to sensitivity throughout adulthood. As you age, you might also be introduced to new medications that can lead to dry mouth and sensitivity, so it’s best to start enamel-strengthening habits when you’re young. why Davids is the best hydroxyapatite toothpaste You don’t have to take our word for it, our friends at Intertek performed a lab test comparing our hydroxyapatite toothpaste to leading sensitive toothpastes on the market. The photo results proved that our formula outperformed the rest, successfully promoting enamel repair by remineralizng holes, scratches, and imperfections better than our competitors. enamel repair your sensitivity superhero ingredient: how hydroxyapatite strengthens your teeth at the source

your sensitivity superhero ingredient: how hydroxyapatite strengthens your teeth at the source

Experts estimate that 1 in 8 Americans deal with tooth sensitivity, and if you’re that “1,” you know just how painful and disruptive it can be. Just the thought of swishing ice-cold water in your mouth is enough to remind you of the pain that even just one single sensitive tooth can cause. While we could go on and on about all the ways tooth sensitivity wreaks havoc, we’re actually here to remind you that there’s a new sensitivity superhero on the block: hydroxyapatite. Sometimes referred to as nano-hydroxyapatite or n-ha, this incredible, innovative ingredient has been taking the oral care world by storm. As the non-toxic, natural alternative to fluoride, hydroxyapatite is revolutionizing the way we approach and treat sensitive teeth by fortifying minerals that already exist in your teeth to protect them against discomfort, damage, and decay. hydroxyapatite soothes sensitivity at the source, naturally What causes sensitivity, anyway? Tooth sensitivity occurs when your enamel (the hard, protective outer layer of your teeth) becomes worn down and damaged. When your enamel weakens, it exposes tiny holes that contain “tubules” that lead to your tooth’s (very sensitive) center nerve. Below you’ll find an actual image of a human tooth, magnified 3,000x. You can see that the enamel looks porous, leaving the tooth’s center nerve vulnerable to external stress from hot and cold foods, beverages, and air as well as sugary and acidic substances. Unlike conventional “sensitive” toothpastes that use chemicals like potassium nitrate to numb your tooth’s nerves, our hydroxyapatite toothpaste provides effective and measurable enamel repair at the source. The nano-hydroxyapatite particles in our formula actually weave their way into these pores, remineralizing the damage from the inside out. Below, you’ll find a photo of the results of using Davids sensitive+whitening nano-hydroxyapatite premium toothpaste (from real third-party lab results by Intertek).  You can see that the tiny holes have been “plugged” by the nano-hydroxyapatite particles, creating a new fortified shield for your tooth’s center nerve. Now that’s real enamel repair that actually works to provide long-term tooth sensitivity relief. Our customers have reported less sensitivity within just a few days of brushing with Davids hydroxyapatite toothpaste twice daily. As an added bonus, research reveals that hydroxyapatite also works to whiten your teeth as it remineralizes your enamel. It does so by restoring mineral density and translucency to your enamel and the layers below it, revealing a whiter smile....naturally! In the process of brightening your smile, it actually makes your teeth more resistant to harmful bacteria and acidic substances. We’ll call that a win, win in the world of natural oral care! hydroxyapatite is non-toxic and biocompatible You’ve heard us mention that hydroxyapatite works its magic “naturally,” but what does that actually mean? Well, unlike its conventional counterparts (fluoride and potassium nitrate, we’re looking at you!), hydroxyapatite is non-toxic and biocompatible. This means it’s not harmful to your body’s existing living tissue. In fact, hydroxyapatite already exists in your body. It makes up roughly 97% of your enamel, 70% of your dentin, and 60% of your bone structure. No wonder it feels so “at home” when it comes to remineralizing your teeth! When you use nano-hydroxyapatite oral care products, you don’t have to worry about swallowing too much or using them too often. For all of the parents out there who worry about their little ones swallowing too much toothpaste, using our hydroxyapatite toothpaste gives you one less thing to worry about because it's safe for kids. You’ll never find a “keep out of reach of children” warning on our toothpaste tube because there are no harmful, toxic substances to be found in our formulas.  hydroxyapatite is good enough for astronauts We’ve touched on the fact that hydroxyapatite already exists in your teeth and bones, but did you know that the first known applications of hydroxyapatite involved astronauts? Back in the 70s, NASA figured out how to create hydroxyapatite supplements in a lab and gave them to American astronauts returning from low-to-no-gravity environments. These astronauts experienced mineral loss in their teeth and bones during their excursions, and hydroxyapatite worked to effectively remineralize the damage. It worked for astronauts returning from some of the harshest living environments, so why not give it a shot at solving your everyday tooth sensitivity? hydroxyapatite is taking the world by storm While hydroxyapatite has been the “gold standard” for oral care in Japan (and widely used in other countries like Canada and the Netherlands) for decades, you probably haven’t seen it much on the drugstore shelves in the US over the years. This is because the ADA will only give its stamp of approval on oral care products that contain fluoride, so hydroxyapatite has been standing in the shadows. But the tables are turning. People (like you!) are looking for more natural alternatives, and hydroxyapatite is finally making its claim to fame. Now, you’ll find mentions of hydroxyapatite all over the internet, and you’ll see hydroxyapatite oral care products on store shelves all over the US! At Davids, we’re very proud to be at the forefront of this movement towards hydroxyapatite. something to smile about If you’re someone who experiences sensitivity on a regular basis, natural relief from nano-hydroxyapatite is certainly something to smile about. As you can see from our third-party lab photos above, our hydroxyapatite toothpaste is extremely effective at plugging exposed tubules and repairing damaged enamel to strengthen your teeth and relieve sensitivity. In fact, it’s so effective that the lab results revealed it actually outperformed other leading sensitive toothpaste on the market, including Apagard Premio, Boka, Colgate Sensitive, Risewell, Sensodyne Pronamel, and Tom’s Sensitive. Not only does our hydroxyapatite toothpaste outperform these competitors, but it does so without the use of chemicals. Not to mention, our hydroxyapatite toothpaste is one of the only products packaged in a recyclable toothpaste tube. Now, that’s a sensitivity superhero worth celebrating! buy now

brush away the day: why your oral care routine is extra important before bed

Think about your day from your mouth’s point of view. You brush your teeth first thing in the morning, and then you move through your day consuming all kinds of things, many of which can do some damage to your delicate oral microbiome. Your morning coffee, your delicious lemon water, your favorite crunchy snacks, your afternoon sweet treat....the list goes on and on! Now, you’re getting ready for bed. Your mouth is craving a clean slate. Not only has it been through a lot today, but it’s about to enter a night of sleep, which brings on a whole new set of challenges. Don’t worry, because we care so deeply about your oral health, we’re going to discuss some of these challenges....and the perfect lineup of Davids products (our bamboo toothbrush, nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste, and tongue scraper) to bring you the perfect nighttime oral care routine to ensure your mouth continues to thrive through the night. what happens in your mouth overnight Trust us, there’s a lot that goes on behind closed lips at night. decreased saliva production When you’re sleeping, your saliva production naturally drops dramatically. Why is this such an important detail? Because saliva plays a critical role in flushing bacteria, keeping your mouth at a healthy pH, and preventing tooth damage and decay. When saliva production decreases overnight, it gives bacteria an ideal environment to fester and deposit damaging acids onto your enamel. This is a huge reason why it’s so important to start with a “clean slate” before your head hits the pillow. Not to mention, our natural formulas make for the best dry mouth toothpaste, as every single one contains moistening ingredients such as vegetable glycerin, birch xylitol, and natural mint oils that work to stimulate saliva production and fight bad bacteria. mouth breathing According to an online survey of over 1,000 Americans, it’s estimated that 71% of beds around the country host a mouth breather. What’s the big deal about mouth breathing? Well, it’s much more complicated than simply breathing through your mouth over your nose. When you breathe through your mouth at night, it can lead to numerous unwanted consequences. First off, you might wake up with dry mouth, bad breath, drool marks, and fatigue. We talked about how saliva production naturally decreases at night (and the negative effects of that), and mouth breathing can compound this issue. This is another reason it’s so important to make sure you’re starting the night with a clean mouth (and maybe using some mouth tape to encourage nose breathing, too). teeth grinding If you grind your teeth at night, you’re not alone. Teeth grinding (bruxism) is super common, and it has so many adverse effects. Bruxism can lead to things such as tension headaches, enamel damage, tooth pain, sore jaw muscles, restricted range of motion in your jaw, ear aches, gum recession, and more. All the more reason to take care of your teeth with a healthy oral care routine before you go to sleep. We recommend a routine that diligently involves nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste (which fortifies your enamel, as we’ll discuss below) and potentially a custom mouth guard that protects against bruxism. how Davids can help We know....yikes. A lot of nightmare-ish things can happen to your mouth while you sleep. But don’t worry, there are so many things you can do to protect your mouth overnight, and we have the products to help you do just that. It all starts with a healthy holistic oral care routine that you can look forward to every night. Here’s our favorite lineup. bamboo toothbrush Start by grabbing your Davids premium bamboo toothbrush. With its 100% bamboo handle, it’s the perfect toothbrush to get to all the hard-to-reach nooks of your mouth to make sure your mouth is squeaky clean before bed. Unlike many other products on the market, our bamboo toothbrush is made with soft, BPA-free bristles derived from castor oil (not petroleum). It’s the perfect tool to give your mouth a gentle clean before bed while doing something nice for the planet too! P.S. We can’t talk about our favorite nighttime oral care routine without mentioning floss! When you skip flossing, you could be leaving up to 30% of your teeth’s overall surface untouched before you go to bed. This is practically a field day for bacteria! So be sure to floss, so you can prevent bacteria from festering in all the tiny crevices of your teeth. We recommend Cocofloss, a sustainable vegan floss made with soft woven threads and cleansing coconut oil. nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste Next up, reach for Davids hydroxyapatite toothpaste. Brushing with our hydroxyapatite toothpaste before bed gives your enamel (which is already 97% hydroxyapatite, to begin with) a healthy dose of remineralization. The nano-hydroxyapatite particles bind to your enamel to fill small holes, scratches, and imperfections caused by bacteria and grinding....which we know can do some damage while you sleep! On the bright side, when you let nano-hydroxyapatite work its magic overnight, it gives your teeth an extra line of defense against nighttime issues such as dry mouth, mouth breathing, and teeth grinding. tongue scraper And last, but certainly not least, it’s time to scrape your tongue. You’ve probably heard your whole life about how important it is to brush and floss before bed, but has anyone told you how important it is to scrape your tongue before you sleep? If not, we’re here to do just that. Your tongue is a soft, cushy breeding ground for bacteria. And since nighttime is such a prime time for bacteria to wreak havoc, it’s super important that you scrape your tongue clean before bed. Tongue scraping might sound scary, but we promise it’s a very soothing technique. It’s been around for centuries, and for good reason. Tongue scraping has so many benefits, some of which include: clearing dead cells, bacteria, and toxins stimulating your tongue’s soft tissue enhancing your taste prevent bad breath (we know that can get worse overnight) decrease your body’s overall toxin load Our 100% medical grade stainless steel tongue scraper has a very unique one-handed design, so you can smoothly and easily swipe away unwanted bacteria at the end of the day. Why wouldn’t you want to give your mouth and body these amazing benefits before you hit the hay?  buy now.

hydroxyapatite do you have one sensitive tooth? it might be trying to tell you something

do you have one sensitive tooth? it might be trying to tell you something

Do you have that one sensitive tooth that always seems to get in the way? It forces you to chew on one side of your mouth, sip through a straw, and be extra careful when you brush on that side. We know that sensitivity, in general, can be extremely uncomfortable and disruptive. But when it’s just one sensitive tooth, it can even feel a little bit mocking. All of your other teeth feel fine, so why is this one giving you such grief? It’s not like you’re skipping it when you brush! Don’t worry, we completely understand the frustration. And we’re here to tell you that there can be several different causes (and solutions) for that one sensitive tooth! Sensitivity isn’t always your fault. In fact, it can even happen when you’re sleeping. Let’s dive into some of the many causes of your one sensitive tooth and how adding hydroxyapatite toothpaste into your routine can work wonders for this pesky issue. what’s happening inside a sensitive tooth? Tooth sensitivity occurs when the hard outer layer of your tooth (enamel) is worn down, exposing the layer underneath (dentin). Your dentin contains tubules, which are little tube-like pathways that lead to your ultra-sensitive tooth’s center nerve. If your enamel gets worn down over time through things like poor oral care, rough brushing, plaque buildup, etc., these tubules become exposed to all outside forces such as food, drinks, sugar, cold air, and beyond. These outside forces now suddenly have access to your tooth’s center nerve, causing extreme sensitivity. Now you might be thinking....how can plaque buildup or rough brushing affect just one tooth? Wouldn’t it affect more of them? That’s a great question, let’s dive into some reasons why you might have just one sensitive tooth. why you might have just one sensitive tooth One sensitive tooth might be an indication that the issue isn’t simply plaque or aggressive brushing. There are a few reasons why sensitivity might be able to single out just one tooth, let’s explore some of them. tooth decay: has it been a while since you’ve gotten an x-ray at the dentist? This would tell us if your one sensitive tooth is actually a result of tooth decay. If that’s the case, your dentist can prescribe a treatment such as a filling to relieve the sensitivity. Tooth decay can “target” one single tooth because of its location. It’s possible that the tooth is used more frequently than others for chewing, so it’s often exposed to sugars and acid-forming bacteria that wear down its enamel over time. gum recession: this is actually one of the leading causes of sensitivity, especially in just one tooth! Over time, harsh brushing or general wear and tear can cause your gum tissue to recede on one tooth (or more). Your gum tissue is another protective layer for your dentin. Below your gums, your teeth don’t have any enamel! So they rely on your gums for protection, keeping those tubules protected from the outside world. jaw clenching (bruxism): clenching is another common cause of localized sensitivity. If you have an off-center bite, or if you tend to clench at an angle during the night, it can wear down your enamel in one localized area. Clenching/grinding can also lead to gum recession, as it puts serious pressure on your gums. Serious tooth grinding can also make your teeth “loosen” in their sockets, creating pockets for bacteria to fester and cause even more sensitivity. How do you know if you’re clenching at night? Keep an eye out for the common symptoms of clenching, such as jaw soreness, tension headaches upon waking, ear aches, or clicking in your ears when you open your jaw. Other (more obvious) causes of sensitivity include a loose filling or a cracked tooth. If you’re experiencing sensitivity in a tooth that has a history (your dentist has already done some work on it), then we highly recommend going to visit your dentist to see if everything is in place. No matter what, we recommend visiting your dentist to get a professional opinion instead of self diagnosing. One sensitive tooth could be the sign of a bigger issue, and your dentist will be able to outline the next steps, whether it’s a filling or a mouth guard. how hydroxyapatite provides tooth sensitivity relief After you’ve been cleared from any serious issues by your dentist, nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA) could be the missing piece to your one-sensitive-tooth puzzle. While many conventional sensitive toothpastes rely on chemical numbing agents and fluoride to “relieve” your sensitivity, we prefer the (lab-tested) natural route. Unlike fluoride and chemical numbing agents that act as a bandaid quick fix, nano-hydroxyapatite particles actually work to repair sensitivity at the source. You see, hydroxyapatite already makes up the majority of your enamel, so when you brush daily with hydroxyapatite toothpaste, you give your enamel a natural dose of the mineral it needs. The nano-hydroxyapatite particles in our sensitive+whitening toothpaste penetrate your enamel, plugging the exposed tubules that lead to your tooth’s center nerve. After just a few days of daily brushing with our hydroxyapatite toothpaste, your one sensitive tooth should feel a whole lot of relief. How can we be so sure? Because our third-party lab test revealed photo evidence that our hydroxyapatite toothpaste outperformed leading competitors when it came to plugging exposed tubules. Check out the results for yourself, or better yet....give our hydroxyapatite toothpaste a try and let us know how much better your sensitive tooth (or teeth) feel after just a few days.   Buy Nano Hydroxyapatite Premium Toothpaste Now.

can cavities cause acne? how oral health can impact your skin health

Have you tried everything to clear your acne, but it just doesn’t seem to go away? Much like your smile, we understand how much skin conditions such as acne can affect your mood and confidence. And we want nothing more than to help you radiate every room you walk into. That’s why we’re so passionate about helping you understand the role of oral health in your overall health. Most people don’t see a pimple and immediately ask themselves, “When was the last time I went to the dentist?” But we’re here to encourage you to start thinking about your skin health from every angle! The truth is, oral health can have a huge impact on your skin health (among many other things such as gut health, genetics, diet, and beyond). When you start to think of your skin health as a product of all of these things, oral health included, you start to see the bigger picture that is holistic health....a topic we find very both interesting and inspiring! This is exactly why we’re diving into the connection between oral health and skin health, and how holistic oral care (with help from Davids) can help nurture both of these things. can cavities cause acne? The short answer is: yes! You can have the greatest skincare routine in the world, but if your oral health is in bad shape, the impacts might appear on your face. New research analysis shows a direct relationship between oral health and acne. When cavities, gingivitis, and/or oral infections are present, they generate an overgrowth of bacteria. One species in particular, propionibacterium (commonly found in pimples), can cause new breakouts to form. If you’re experiencing unexplained breakouts (especially along your jaws and cheek), it’s important to examine your oral health. Are you diligent about completing your oral hygiene routine? Are you up-to-date on your dentist visits? Being proactive about these things is one of the best ways to minimize the transfer of bacteria from your mouth to your skin. other impacts of oral health on skin health The same study links poor oral health with conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, emphasizing the impacts that oral health can have on your skin health. Severe eczema is linked to bleeding gums, and psoriasis is linked to high oral bacterial load, plaque burden, and periodontitis (gum disease). These skin conditions are a sign of inflammation, and often, that inflammation can originate in the mouth. We don’t say this to scare you, but rather, to enlighten you and inspire you to identify and address the root cause(s) of your skin conditions. Enhanced oral care might just be the missing ingredient your skin (and body) has been craving! how holistic oral health + hydroxyapatite can help The good news about holistic oral health is that it considers the whole picture. A holistic approach considers your mouth’s role in skin health and beyond (mental health, gut health, and organ health). When it comes to maintaining your holistic oral health, we strongly recommend adding hydroxyapatite toothpaste (aka nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste) to your routine. Why specifically toothpaste with hydroxyapatite? It works to remineralize your enamel from the inside out while working to achieve an optimal bacteria balance. By intentionally working to remineralize your enamel every day, you’re creating a stronger line of defense against tooth decay, gum disease, plaque buildup, tooth sensitivity, and beyond. Not only does nano hydroxyapatite have amazing benefits, but it’s also biocompatible. Because it already exists in your body, there are no health risks associated with its daily use. That’s why you won’t find a poison control label on our hydroxyapatite toothpaste (or any of our toothpaste options). There are no associated side effects (unlike conventional toothpastes that contain fluoride). Now that’s holistic oral care at its finest! In addition to brushing twice daily with a third-party tested nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste (like ours!), we recommend the following healthy habits to further elevate your holistic oral health and prevent unwanted skin conditions. floss daily: remember that brushing alone can leave up to 30% of your tooth’s surface untouched. Flossing is crucial when it comes to taming the bacteria in the tiny crevices between your teeth. wash your face after brushing your teeth: especially if you’re a “messy brusher,” this can minimize the bacteria that transfer from your mouth to your skin. You don’t want this bacteria to linger on your skin after you’ve brushed. try a natural mouthwash with hydroxyapatite: an added dose of hydroxyapatite never hurts! Natural mouthwash works to achieve a healthy bacterial balance in your oral microbiome, rather than completely wiping out all bacteria. The hydroxyapatite particles in natural mouthwash work to remineralize your enamel even further. tongue scrape: your tongue is a soft, cushy breeding ground for bacteria. One of the best ways to reduce the amount of bad bacteria in your mouth is to scrape your tongue after you brush your teeth. By doing it after brushing, you’re allowing the bacteria-fighting ingredients in your toothpaste to clean your tongue too. schedule visits with your dentist every six months: your dentist can see far beyond the average eye. With their expertise (and x-rays!), they can identify conditions such as gum disease, gum recession, plaque buildup, and all stages of tooth decay (even the early stages). Their professional tools can scrape off tartar and plaque buildup unlike any other tools, so it’s crucial that you maintain frequent visits to your dentist! Start by doing one great thing for your oral + overall health: add hydroxyapatite toothpaste to your routine! Trust us, you won’t regret it. Buy Nano Hydroxyapatite Premium Toothpaste Now.

enamel repair thinking of switching to hydroxyapatite toothpaste? some things you'll want to know

thinking of switching to hydroxyapatite toothpaste? some things you'll want to know

At last, you’ve been exposed to the hype of hydroxyapatite. We’re so glad you’re considering adding this natural remineralizing agent to your oral care routine! It’s no secret that fluoride has been the “gold standard” in oral care for so long. With a few questionable effects, we think it’s about time it had a little friendly competition. To make your transition to hydroxyapatite toothpaste a little less intimidating, we’re covering some of the history, benefits, and awesome facts about this hero ingredient and its ability to enhance your holistic oral care routine. hydroxyapatite has an out-of-this-world history In the early 1900s, tooth decay was on the rise, and dental professionals were scrambling to find a way to slow it down. Around 1950, local governments began adding fluoride to their drinking water, and this seemed to be the magic answer everyone was looking for. At the time, an immediate answer was necessary, but there simply wasn’t enough evidence to capture the full picture: although fluoride is effective at preventing tooth decay, what other long-term effects might it have? Could there be another, safer + more natural alternative? Just a couple of decades later, NASA began to experiment with hydroxyapatite. They would give it to astronauts returning from microgravity environments to help them rebuild strength in their teeth and bones. We’re delighted to say....it worked! At this point, fluoride was famous. But as NASA revealed, hydroxyapatite deserved some fame too. Although we might be a few decades late, we’re finally giving hydroxyapatite the love and attention it deserves. there are so many benefits of hydroxyapatite Whether your main concern is tooth sensitivity or a bright white smile (or both), hydroxyapatite has you covered. Let’s dive into some of the common benefits of hydroxyapatite. remineralization and tooth sensitivity relief: hydroxyapatite already makes up roughly 97% of your enamel! When your enamel gets worn down by bacteria and daily wear and tear, it can expose “tubules” in your teeth that lead to the center nerve. This can lead to super uncomfortable sensitivity (especially when you consume hot+cold items). But nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA) particles can easily penetrate the enamel and “bind” to it, remineralizing the weakened areas to provide tooth sensitivity relief in as little as a few days. This is different from fluoride, which creates a new structure called fluorapatite instead of replacing the existing hydroxyapatite minerals.  biocompatibility: unlike many other ingredients in oral care products (especially the “sensitive”: ones), hydroxyapatite is biocompatible. This means it works with the cells in your body without harming them. This is unique for sensitive toothpaste because many use fluoride as well as chemical numbing agents to get the job done. This is why these toothpastes have a poison control label on them! Not hydroxyapatite toothpaste....you never have to worry about (you or your little ones) swallowing too much of it. microbiome-friendly: research shows that hydroxyapatite toothpaste can effectively reduce the bad bacteria in your mouth without wiping out the good ones! This is super important because your oral and gut microbiomes rely on good bacteria to function optimally, and synthetic ingredients such as fluoride and chemical numbing agents can disrupt this bacterial balance. effective whitening: did you know that hydroxyapatite itself can whiten your teeth, even without help from other whitening agents? This is because it actually replenishes minerals, reverses stains, and delivers enamel repair at the source....revealing a naturally whiter, stronger, and healthier smile. pH balance: hydroxyapatite helps your teeth stay strong against acidic substances, preventing them from penetrating your enamel and causing tooth decay. This process helps your oral microbiome maintain a healthy pH, which is super important for avoiding bad breath, inflammation, gum disease, and other oral health problems. As you can see, nano-hydroxyapatite works to nourish your oral health from so many different angles. And it does all of this naturally! When you begin using toothpaste with hydroxyapatite, you can expect tooth sensitivity relief in just a few days....without all the unwanted side effects of chemical-based sensitive toothpastes. hydroxyapatite toothpaste is a biocompatible fluoride alternative As we mentioned above, hydroxyapatite is a biocompatible remineralizing agent. Unlike fluoride, it already exists in your body. But is it actually as effective as fluoride? Science says yes. There are so many studies out there that suggest nano-hydroxyapatite is just as effective (if not more effective) than fluoride at remineralizing and strengthening your teeth. This is super important because fluoride has been the oral care superstar for decades. In fact, the ADA will only put its stamp of approval on toothpastes that contain fluoride. You can read more about this in our previous article, hydroxyapatite vs. fluoride: how does it compare to the oral care superstar?, where we cover differences between these two ingredients and some of the overwhelming research that supports hydroxyapatite. To summarize, there are some valid concerns regarding the amount of fluoride we, as humans, consume. From our drinking water to our toothpaste, many run the risk of overexposure from simple day-to-day activities. Recent research shows that hydroxyapatite is just as effective as fluoride, and it doesn’t pose the risk of overexposure or unwanted side effects. This proves that, while it currently lives in the shadows of fluoride, nano-hydroxyapatite has a very bright future. Davids hydroxyapatite toothpaste outperforms the rest Just like conventional toothpastes, it’s safe to say that not all hydroxyapatite toothpaste is made equal. The unique formula of Davids sensitive+whitening nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste has been shown to outperform other leading sensitive toothpastes. Don’t take our word for it, check out our third-party lab test results! As you can see, this photo evidence shows our nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste plugged the exposed tubules and repaired the damaged enamel better than its competitors. The results reveal stronger, healthier, and less sensitive teeth. Now that’s something to smile about! Buy Nano Hydroxyapatite Premium Toothpaste Now.
